Nature Morte Bone Paintings

I love the density and color of bones. Bones are neither straight nor perfectly curved. They are as unique as the life force they once held, the experience of living etched in structure and pearlescent colors.

I started painting bones in 2016 when I moved to Portland Oregon and joined a monthly artists group called Still Death. Soon I began painting bones and skulls every week as part of my intentional practice. Here is a sampling of my personal favorites thus far. You can see the whole collection and learn about a painting’s availability, purchase options, and more from my website www.brookepaints.com.
