Everyday, mid-afternoon, my dog begs for a walk. She has an uncanny way of knowing exactly when I should put the paintbrush down and never takes no for an answer.
The fresh, rain soaked air both awakens and satiates.
Spring has sprung in Portland.
Beds of cheerful daffodil create splashes of color throughout my neighborhood. Elegant petals of the magnolia unfurl to meet the fleeting sunshine, cherry blossoms sparkle in the breeze.
This budding blossom begged to be painted. After a rough day in the studio (feeling overwhelmed by a 4×6′ figure painting), this sweet little 6×6″ was incredibly satisfying to paint.
I foresee many more floral paintings in the near future!
